Many scholars count the Bloodstone Emperor as the first High Priest of the sinister Church of Starry Wisdom, which persists to this day in many port cities throughout the known world.
The “first”
Let’s look at the word that stands out after a careful reading: “first” – the first high priest of CoSW. There are several ways to explain its presence here:
- He is the first priest in a long list of priests that followed him. The reason he is mentioned here is eventually, in the books, we will find another priest of CoSW. There is nothing wrong with this explanation, but somehow I suspect something more interesting:
- If he is the founder of CoSW, why is it? What is that Wisdom? And why BE? What did he learn that wasn’t known before? A rather logical, but troubling, explanation is: he didn’t really “learn” about something new, but rather created that. Whatever wisdom was there to discover about an astronomical object, he brought it or simply is it.
- The final possibility is that it sets the stage for a dramatic reveal. BE was not only the first priest of Church of Starry Wisdom, he was and is the only CoSW priest. Evidence? Zero. (At this stage, sinister laugh follows…)
When not on Ice and away from Fire, I publish fractal art apps. I like them and you might enjoy them, too. You don't need to know fractals to play with them.
And you definitely don't need to know art, because nobody can. You just do it. Try Poly-z-Vision: install, run, click, move the point, click, move the point, activate Spiraling.
